Protein G is a cytosolic protein found in the cell walls of group C and group G streptococci, and like Protein A, Protein G binds specifically to the Fc region of IgG. Unlike Protein A, Protein G binds extensively and more strongly to more types of IgG, polyclonal IgG and human IgG, with lower serum protein binding levels, higher purity, and lower ligand shedding. In addition, Protein G binds to the Fab and F(ab')2 segments of some antibodies.
Therefore, Protein G affinity media can be used for the isolation and purification of antibodies (mono- and poly-antibodies), and high purity antibodies can be obtained from ascites, serum, and culture fluids after one step of affinity chromatography.
Protein G Chromrose® 4FF affinity medium is a highly cross-linked agarose gel matrix with recombinant Protein G as ligand, which has a high physicochemical stability and the ligand is not easy to be detached, and has a long service life for a wide range of applications.
Application Scenarios: For ascites, serum and culture fluid purification of ascites, serum and culture fluids.
